How it works

Position comes from the network itself.

Each machine measures its distance to the machines around it. Those distances fix each position to about ten centimeters. No satellites, no pre-built maps. This is MIM, the Motion Intelligence Model.

±10 CM UNDER GPS DENIAL · RANGES TO 1,800 M, NO LINE OF SIGHT NEEDED

A single autonomous vehicle alone in an empty yard, with nothing around it to reference.

01 · ALONE

Alone, a machine only guesses.

GPS drifts by meters. Indoors, underground, or jammed, it has nothing at all.

~8 M OF DOUBTU.S. DOT · SIXTH AVENUE

Five machines of mixed types spread across a yard, each ranging to the others.

02 · RANGING

Every node is a reference point.

Each machine times a radio pulse to its neighbors and gets a distance. Every pair is measured. Five machines fix each other.

5 MACHINES · 10 RANGESEVERY PAIR MEASURED

A vehicle in a deep urban canyon, where buildings bounce the satellite signal down the street.

03 · LOCKED TO 10 CM

The mesh locks to 10 cm.

On Sixth Avenue in Manhattan, raw GPS was wrong by eight meters. The mesh held ten centimeters. Recorded for the U.S. DOT.

8 M → 10 CMU.S. DOT · SIXTH AVENUE

A convoy of three vehicles following each other through heavy dust.

04 · GPS DENIED

There is nothing to jam.

Kill GPS entirely. With satellites denied and heavy dust in the air, navigation held ten centimeters relative in U.S. Army trials. Under active RF jamming, its convoys degraded gracefully.

The geometry

Three distances fix a point.

Every range is a measurement.

Each machine measures how far it is from the others. Given the distances, the geometry is solvable at ranges to 1,800 meters, including without line of sight.

In plain terms

Three ideas, no math.

Each machine is a landmark for the others.

GPS asks satellites where you are. MIM asks the machines around you, at ranges up to 1,800 meters, including without line of sight. With higher-grade sensing on board, the top three auto manufacturers used it as ground truth, at ±2 cm over thousands of public-road miles, to grade their own perception stacks.

The map builds itself.

There is nothing to survey. Put MIM on the machines you already own and the mesh assembles on its own.

It runs on a sub-$50 processor.

No GPU, no cloud, no connectivity requirement. Safety reflexes at 200 Hz on commodity silicon. That is why it can go on every machine, not just the flagship one.
